TROPO
Biography
TROPO
TROPO; the moment in time or the point in space where change occurs.
TROPO creates an eclectic sound and connected-space combining live violin, synths, and percussion with electronic production. The trio genre-splices orchestral with tribal, house with jazz, and blues with bass into a dance that is both heard and felt.

Inspired by the mosaic of human experience, Tropo combines live instruments with electronic dance music to create an eclectic sound and connected-space. Starting as a solo project by Tyson Leonard to integrate his relentless passion for playing violin with composing dance music, Tropo has grown into a trio that genre-splices orchestral with funk, house with jazz, and blues with tribal into a sound that is both heard and felt.
Tropo developed over the years by performing at music festivals around California as a live act playing original, layered compositions. Often the only live band between DJ sets, Tropo uses music to connect with the human family and create a fun, dynamic experience.
Some of Tropo’s many milestones include playing at Sonic Bloom, Burning Man, and Lightning in a Bottle; touring with Eoto; performing internationally; and appearing alongside great artists like Beats Antique, Random Rab, David Starfire, and the Jerry Garcia Band. According to the band, contributing to their audiences’ story — co-creating a thread the listeners carry throughout their lives — keeps the project evolving and growing. Now with 3 album releases and over 50 festival appearances, Tropo continues to enchant listeners with their signature, intimate allure.
